The curricula in these web pages have been designed to provide coaches with developmentally appropriate coaching plans. Simply follow the lesson plans and the needs of your young players will be well served.
I am pleased to present this coaching program, the brain child of my old school and youth team mate Tony Waiters (ex Blackpool and England). Tony was fortunate enough to play at Blackpool with the great Sir Stanley Matthews whose individual ball skills were known world wide. The late Sir Stan was known as the ‘wizard of dribble’ and continued playing at the top level until he was 50 years old. The best players are always the ones who have mastery of the ball.
You already know that I advocate a coaching focus on INDIVIDUAL BALL SKILLS in the age groups from 7 to puberty. Roo ball players need to spend as much time as possible working hard to master the ball as individuals. You will see that this is the major aim of the lesson plans. You will also see that there is repetition but this will not worry your young players. Be patient, disciplined in your use of the lessons and the progressive nature of the plans will do their work.
Your feedback on the whole or parts of the program will be invaluable in providing the highest standard of coaching possible for our players. In coming months additions will be made to the program, including a parent’s section.
Now go to www.bytesizecoaching.com and use the club identification and password issued to you. If you need any advice on conducting the lessons to best advantage, please ask for my help on any training night.
The contents of the program are COPYRIGHT and are being funded from your club’s coaching budget. The contents should not be made available to any other person through your id/password or as printed material.
