A number of changes have been made to Football Queensland's Player Age Policy for the 2012 season.  This will affect a number of our players, particularly in the SSF category who play up an age group.  An extract of the future direction is listed below for your information:

Clubs should make every effort to place junior players in their age appropriate teams. Whilst Football Brisbane recognises there will be times when composite teams have to be fielded, this should only be done as a last resort. Under no circumstances should clubs promote “playing up” as an appropriate development strategy to young players or their parents/guardians. In all cases parental/guardian approval must be obtained before a player is considered to be allowed to „play up”. Clubs should familiarise themselves with the age restrictions/requirements before the season commences and ensure that all coaches are aware of them when selecting teams.

Players who have not attained the age of 5 years must not be played beyond U/6 SSF.

Children who are turning 5 in 2012 may sign up for the season even if they are only turning 5 at the end of the year.

Click here for a complete overview of all age groups.

If you have any specific questions as to how it relates to your child, please contact Jenine Mortell on 0407 063 214 or email at soccer@collegesunited.org.au.
